About Steve
Steve works with small and large companies to build, maintain and enforce their intellectual property portfolios, Steve is recognized for the extensive patent management experience he brings to clients in a broad range of industries. Honored as a Leading American Attorney, Steve has also been named multiple times as a Super Lawyer by his peers.
Steve focuses his practice on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, licensing, agreements, opinions, appeals, interference proceedings, Internet and e-commerce law, and other intellectual property work and related business transactions.
Fields in which Steve has significant experience include software, electronic, electrical, mechanical, and process technologies. He has expertise in computer hardware and software, electrical, medical devices, storage devices, optical and printing technologies, semiconductors, e-commerce and business method technologies.
In the area of foreign patent practice, Steve has substantial experience working with foreign companies to build their intellectual property portfolios in the United States. He also provides infringement, validity and clearance investigations and opinions. He works closely with many law firms in other countries, those in Europe and Asia in particular.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and working out at various Minneapolis gyms.
