About Abigail

Abigail is a partner at Dicke, Billig & Czaja, PLLC and practices in the area of intellectual property law. She is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota. Abigail’s practice includes the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications both inside and outside the U.S., patentability analysis, trademark availability analysis, infringement analysis, validity analysis, litigation support, and worldwide intellectual property management support. Having represented a number of large research companies and small start-up companies, Abigail has substantial experience with license agreements, IP analysis and opinions, strategic intellectual property planning, portfolio management and client counseling.

Abigail’s practice areas covers a variety of high-technology areas requiring cross-disciplinary backgrounds. With an emphasis in bio-medical and bio-electrical technologies, Abigail has significant experience in a range of biotechnologies including, for example: devices such as bio/physiological sensors, molecular analyzers and sequencers, and orthodontic appliances; biochemical structures including DNA, RNA, antibodies and proteins; and nanotechnologies such as nanotube and polymer synthesis. As many of these technologies involve varying degrees of life sciences and physical sciences, Abigail is well versed in related cross-disciplines including electronics, computer sciences, fluid/temperature flow technology and chemical structures such as molecular physics and molecular/chemical structures (from nano-structures to pharmaceuticals).

Abigail also has significant experience in technology areas including computer science, electronic and mechanical systems, complex integrated circuits, radio frequency circuitry, and semiconductor manufacturing and design. With emphasis in server and cloud based technologies, she is experienced in drafting and prosecuting patents covering cloud computing, computer networks, big data solutions, machine learning, enterprise solutions, virtual machines, business continuity, secure transactions, e-commerce, and business methods.

Abigail earned a B.S. in Molecular Biology with distinction from the University of Tampa. She earned her Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law where she graduated with honors. While at William Mitchell she served as Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Society, competed in the Giles Rich moot court competition, was a member of William Mitchell Intellectual Property Law Clinic of Law, and assisted with preparation of several Briefs of Amicus Curiae in support of Appellants or Appellees.
