About Erik
Erik is based in Cary, North Carolina. Erik works with a variety of companies, from early-stage to publicly held companies, to help them identify and protect their intellectual property. He is always striving to do the highest quality work for his clients to ensure that they receive the best value for their intellectual property investment.
Erik focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patents and trademarks, opinions and related counseling. His areas of specialization include electrical, software, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), wireless, semiconductor and mechanical technologies.
Erik has work experience in integrated circuit design and international business development. While at Honeywell’s Solid State Electronic Center, he received industry and corporate awards for the technical achievement of a first-in-industry memory product. Erik also co-founded a semiconductor start-up company. He credits this experience with providing him with an insight and perspective that he regularly relies upon when advising his clients.
Erik also has worked as a corporate in-house patent attorney. At Infineon Technologies, he managed patent strategy and patent-related matters for their US business groups. He collaborated with management and technical staff to increase their numbers of new invention disclosures. He also collaborated with their Germany-based offensive licensing team and contributed to successful settlements of patent litigation disputes and a Section 337 complaint filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission.
In his spare time, Erik enjoys spending time with his wife and their two adult children. Erik and his wife both play tennis and love to go out dancing. Erik also supports the local entrepreneur community in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of North Carolina.
